1. Are your services really confidential?

Yes. Any information about you, including the fact that you are seen at Synchrony, is protected under federal regulations. Information regarding your health care, including payment for health care, is protected by two federal laws: the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”), 42 U.S.C. 1320d et seq., 45 C.F.R. Parts 160 and 164, and for Substance Abuse Clients the Confidentiality Law, 42 U.S.C. 290dd-2. 42 C.F.R. Part 2. Under these laws, Synchrony may not say to a person outside of Synchrony that you used our services, nor may Synchrony disclose any information identifying you as an alcohol or drug abuser, or disclose any other protected information except as permitted by federal law.

2. What are your hours? Can I be seen in the evening?
We are open: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 8 am - 5 pm
  Tuesday and Thursday: 8 am - 8 pm

We will do our best to find a time that is convenient for you.

3. I'm really scared to call. How will I be treated?

The Synchrony staff understands how difficult it is to ask for help. We will do everything we can to make your contact with us as easy as possible. You will be treated with the respect you deserve; we consider it a courageous step to request assistance.

4. What will happen first?

You will receive a thorough evaluation from a qualified professional. This will consist of a discussion of what prompted you to seek services, family, medical, social/recreational, mental health and substance use history and other pertinent information. The evaluation is a collaborative effort, done in a relaxed manner. If you counselor feels you would benefit form further services, the two of you will discuss available options.

5. Am I obligated to continue with services if I come in for an evaluation?

Your first obligation is to yourself. We will make recommendations based upon your evaluation.

6. What if I'm concerned about someone else?

We can provide you with free consultation to teach you how to help someone you care about. We have assisted people who are concerned about spouses, partners, parents, children, other family members, co-workers, and friends.
